CORA (Canadian Outrigger Racing Association) has additional information about racing
We expect that many clubs will bring extra boats that will be available for some of the races. As yet we have no firm commitment on numbers. If the club is on the island they should plan to transport their own.
Fees depend on the club whose boat you borrow from. In the past boat borrowers have sometimes paid about $60.00 and other times not. Some clubs want help with loading and unloading and are happy with a half dozen beer. Other clubs let you know the charge up front. Because of the ferry costs for the off Island boats borrowing clubs should expect to help pay for the transportation.
Please email boats@cscanoeracingclub.ca if your team needs a boat, and we'll hook up you up directly with a club that has a boat available.
Island Iron is a CORA sanctioned race. CORA points will be award as per CORA protocol assigned to teams in age groups and categories as indicated on entry forms.
